Iron frame collapse in Kochi Smart City; One dead, five hospitalized

KOCHI: During construction in the Smart City, an accident occurred when the iron frame intended for painting collapsed. One worker, Utham, a native of Bihar died in the incident. Five workers sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the hospital. The police and fire force have already arrived at the scene.

The iron frame was initially constructed for the polishing works of a 24-storey building. Those working on it during the incident suffered injuries as the frame broke causing them to fall. All currently hospitalized are non-state workers. Among them are Ramit, Sikander, Aman, Biban Singh and Rajan Munna, all natives of Bihar. Reports suggest that more people may have been injured in the accident.
