'Chief Minister has not violated any laws'; why create controversy over CM's foreign tour, asks EP Jayarajan

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: LDF convener EP Jayarajan said that there is no need for the media to know who is sponsoring the foreign trip of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his family. He said that the Chief Minister set out for the foreign trip with the knowledge of the party and that there was no need for a controversy surrounding the matter.

"You are not the ones bearing the expense of the CM's foreign trip. If the media did not know about the foreign trip, then it is because of their incompetence. The CM travelled abroad after informing the party. There is no practice of handing over official duties to someone. It is up to the party to decide who should go to which places for campaigning. The Chief Minister has not violated any laws or rules. Then why are you creating a controversy over the matter? I had spoken to the CM the other day. We ourselves would decide where we should go and where we should deliver the speech. We have not given up that right to anyone else. Media need not worry about that," Jayarajan said.

EP Jayarajan also alleged that the Opposition was hunting down the Chief Minister by deliberately spreading lies about him.

"Mathew Kuzhalnadan has been isolated within the Congress. His efforts to show that he is more capable than VD Satheesan have failed. Was he able to produce even a paper against Pinarayi and his daughter when the court asked him why he wanted to make the Chief Minister and his daughter the accused in the case? Can't an educated woman work hard and lead a living just because she happened to be the daughter of the CM? Kuzhalnadan has become an annoying litigator. He should resign as MLA," Jayarajan said.
