'Came here to see God, move aside'; actor Vinayakan attempts to enter Kalpathy temple after 11 pm

PALAKKAD: The office bearers of the Kalpathy temple have made it clear that actor Vinayakan has not been banned from entering the temple. The office bearers came up with the explanation after some reports claimed that the actor was banned from entering the premises of the temple.

"The locals only told Vinayakan that he couldn't enter the temple as it was well past 11 pm. There were no other disputes," Ward Councillor Subash said.

The temple is open to the public from 5 am to 9 am and from 5 pm to 8 pm every day.

A controversy had erupted earlier after a video showed that Vinayakan was not allowed to enter the Kalpathy temple when he came to visit the temple. Those, including locals, are claiming that some people are trying to create an unnecessary controversy regarding the incident.

"Some works were going on in the temple. People who were there at the temple at that time were not able to recognise Vinayakan as he wore a cap. According to my understanding, Vinayakan got irked when they asked him who he was. Some people are trying to create unnecessary controversy regarding the incident," Subash added.

Vinayakan reached Kalpathy after the temple was closed at night. He then raised the demand to enter the temple. However, locals present in the area said that he cannot enter the temple as it was already past 11 pm. This led to a dispute between the actor and the locals. The video of the incident is currently circulating on social media. The video shows Vinayakan saying that he came there to see the God.
