Swargachitra's epic 'Manichitrathazhu' gears up for re-release; more details about date

Veteran writer Madhu Muttam’s epic creation ‘Manichitrathazhu’, arguably the most adulated Malayalam cinema of all time is gearing up for a re-release. Fazil donned the director's hat for the film but many prominent names in the industry such as Priyadarshan, and the Siddique-Lal duo joined hands to carve out a classic for the industry. Mohanlal, Shobana, and Suresh Gopi played pivotal roles in this psychological thriller.

As per emerging news, ‘Manichitrathazhu’ will be back in theatres across Kerala by mid-2024. It has now turned into a trend among distributors and filmmakers to try their luck by bringing back vintage classics to theatres; to engender a new response from the audience. Mohanlal’s ‘Spadikam’ which was re-released in 2023 opened to marvellous response and even outclassed newer releases of that time.

‘Manichitrathazhu’ is currently going through the re-mastering works and is rumoured to hit theatres on August 17 this year. The psychological horror thriller produced by Swargachitra will soon make many pulses beat in theatres across Kerala. An official announcement will be made soon.
