Two youths drown to death in KIP canal

KOTTARAKKARA: Two youths drowned while taking bath in KIP canal in Sadanandapuram. The deceased have been identified as Akash (22), of Akash Bhawan near Vettikkavala Koyikal Temple and Sreejith (22) at Puthanveedu in Puthiyidath.

The accident happened around 4:30 pm on Sunday.

After talking to their friend Vishnu, both took a bath and drowned. Immediately, Vishnu went down into the canal but did not know how to swim, so he came back. The residents of the area were informed but could not save the duo. The bodies were taken out by the fire force. Sreejith was a fire and safety student. Akash was an electrician. Sreejith is the son of construction contractor Sreekumar and Jaya. Sister: Sreelakshmi. Akash is the son of Murukan and Sandhya, who are construction workers. Sister: Archana.
