Two Keralites held in Mangaluru for possessing pistols

MANGALURU: Two Keralites were arrested in Mangaluru on Tuesday for illegally possessing firearms. The duo was ambushed by police while on their way from Ullal. Mohammad Asghar (26), a resident of Kadambar, and Abdul Nisar K (29), a resident of Moodambail, were arrested. Both are natives of Manjeswaram. They were travelling through Mangaluru in a black Verna car.

Two pistols and two mobile phones were seized from them. Karnataka Police informed that further investigation is being conducted into the incident.

According to Karnataka police, Mohammad Asghar is a history sheeter and was involved in many criminal cases. Asghar is an accused in one attempted murder case and another hit-and-run case, all coming under the purview of Manjeshwaram police. Asghar was also involved in a case of illegally selling marijuana in Baiyappanahalli.
