Travel influencer found dead after released on bail in child pornography case

BUENOS AIRES: A popular travel influencer and a YouTuber was found dead at his home. Leonel Esteban Borroni was found dead after released on bail in a child pornography case. His relative, who reached Borroni’s house in Buenos Aires, found him dead on May 17.

He was found hanging with his hand and legs bound with plastic. Police suspect that it is a case of suicide. Police said that more can be revealed only after getting the autopsy report.

Esteban was arrested after nude pics of children were found in his laptop. The investigating team said that while grilling him, he was not ready to disclose anything. The case came to light after Argentinian authorities received information from a US-based agency specializing in combating child exploitation.

Esteban was known by his social media username ‘Un Leon Viajero’ means ‘A Lion Traveller’ in English. He had 164,000 followers on Instagram. He used to post photos of bike trips to Ecuador, Venezuela and French Guiana.
