KASARAGOD: The inquiry commission appointed by the KPCC said that Congress leaders committed serious lapse by attending the marriage ceremony of the Periya double murder case accused's son. The leaders attended the wedding ceremony of Balakrishnan's son. Balakrishnan is the 13th accused in the murder of Youth Congress workers P K Sarathlal and Kripesh. The investigation commission found that what they did was an unforgivable offence. The report will be handed over to KPCC president K Sudhakaran soon.
It was news that Congress leader Pramod Periya and some leaders attended the function on the 7th of this month. Following this, Pramod Periya was removed from the post of constituency president. The wedding ceremony was held at a private auditorium in Periya. "I attended the wedding because I was invited. Apart from me, some other Congress workers also attended this wedding ceremony. It was a public ceremony and I attended the wedding in the name of friendship and it was not a controversial issue," Pramod responded.
Following this, various criticisms were raised in the party itself. With this, Sudhakaran appointed a two-member commission to study the matter. KPCC state general secretary and lawyer PM Nias and political affairs committee member N Subramanian are members of the commission.
