'There are empty-headed ones among priests too'; Chief Minister with criticism directed at Geevarghese Mor Coorilos Metropolitan

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan with severe criticism directed at the former head of the Niranam Diocese of Jacobite Syriac Orthodox Church Dr Geevarghese Mor Coorilos Metropolitan. The Chief Minister said that there are empty-headed people among priests too. The Chief Minister's response was following the Metropolitan's criticism of the government. The Chief Minister's remarks were made during the presentation of the progress report on the activities of the state government for the year 2023-24.

"I heard the priest say that it was the flood that brought this government back to power and it should not be assumed that there will be another flood. It is clear from that sentence that sometimes there are some empty-headed ones among the priests too," said Pinarayi.

"It is a fact that it has become difficult for government employees to get the DA they are entitled to. The employees will not have to suffer that problem all the time. A decision will be taken in this regard at the earliest. The DR of the pensioners has also faced some problems during this period. It is hoped that the situation will change in favour of paying it and the problem can be solved," said the Chief Minister.

The Metropolitan's criticism was through Facebook. The Facebook note said that one of the main reasons for the downfall of the Left in Kerala during the Lok Sabha elections was anti-government sentiment and if the Left in Kerala is not ready to learn from the continuous trauma treatment given by the people, the situation in Bengal and Tripura will befall the Left in Kerala.
