"You only understood it now": CM Vijayan gives sarcastic reply to media query about anti-incumbency

NEW DELHI: On asked about the Lok Sabha election drubbing, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan gave a sarcastic reply. The media query to the CM was whether the anti-incumbency resulted in LDF losing in 19 seats.

"Oh, you only came to know about it now", the CM replied to the question. The Chief Minister was in Delhi to attend the CPM Politburo. The Chief Minister also said that it is very hot in Delhi.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had responded very harshly to questions about the election failure in the past few days. Dr. Geevarghese Mor Coorilos, the former metropolitan of Niranam Diocese of Malankara Jacobite Syriac Orthodox Church, scoffed about LDF's dismal show at LS polls that floods and epidemics do not always come to the rescue. To this, the chief minister gave a controversial remark that there are some ignorants among the priests.

Opposition leader VD Satheesan criticized that CM Vijayan cannot accept criticism and is not ready for correction despite setbacks.

"Geevarghese Mor Coorilos once showered praise on CM Vijayan and called him a leader treasured by time. It is clear from the Chief Minister's words yesterday that he cannot accept criticism and listen to unpleasant truths," Satheesan said.
