KOCHI: Director Ashiq Abu has openly criticized FEFKA General Secretary B. Unnikrishnan, accusing him of engaging in hypocritical actions and calling for all 21 unions within FEFKA to discuss these issues transparently. Ashiq Abu alleged that B. Unnikrishnan has been involved in criminal activities and labour violations, urging the government to recognize his role in these matters. He also blamed B. Unnikrishnan for the downfall of MACTA, a key organization in the industry.

According to Ashiq Abu, FEFKA has been unjustly aligned with B. Unnikrishnan, tying the labour organization to a feudalistic approach. He accused Unnikrishnan of taking control of countermeasures from behind the scenes and challenged him to publicly address these allegations if he has the courage to face society. Ashiq Abu also called for Unnikrishnan's removal from the film policy formulation committee, arguing that the industry's labor issues would be better handled in his absence.

Ashiq Abu emphasized that Kerala is a civilized society and that FEFKA’s recent actions do not reflect the position of the entire union. His remarks come in the wake of FEFKA's response to the resignation of the AMMA governing body, which FEFKA described as the beginning of necessary reforms within the organization.

FEFKA has also called for the names of those accused of sexual assault to be publicly released, while noting that further comments are inappropriate as the matter is under consideration by the High Court. The organization has pledged to provide legal aid to survivors and has tasked a core committee with this responsibility. Additionally, FEFKA will offer the services of a clinical psychologist to support those affected. The organization has vowed to take action against any accused individuals within its ranks, regardless of their status.
