ERNAKULAM: KG Abraham is the Managing Director of the NBTC Group and the Kerala-based KGA Group, which has more than six thousand employees and assets of more than four thousand crore rupees. Abraham, who has been working in Kuwait for 38 years, is a native of Niranam in Pathanamthitta.

Abraham is the Chairman of Crowne Plaza, a five-star luxury hotel in Kundannoor, Ernakulam, and a partner in KGA Elite Continental Hotel, Thiruvalla. He has also invested in the real estate sector in Kerala.

After beginning modestly in Kuwait's construction sector, KG Abraham grew by earning recognition for his high-quality work. He founded NBTC Group in 1977. It is a group that includes major construction companies in Kuwait. The group's activities include engineering, construction, fabrication and installation of machines. It has companies in Kuwait and other West Asian countries, including in the oil and petrochemical sectors. It also operates in marketing and education sectors.

Abraham reached Kuwait at the age of 22 after getting a diploma in civil engineering. He started his professional career by working in a company called Badha and Musairi for a salary of 60 dinars. After working for seven years, he started his own company. He then took up small construction works and completed them successfully. The group grew rapidly after the 1990 Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. Abraham also has a supermarket chain called Highway Center in Kuwait.
