Sibi Malayil recalls his last memory of Lohithadas, speaks about story of Mohanlal movie that he had planned to tell him

It has been 15 years since Lohithadas' demise. It is doubtful if there is another storyteller in Indian cinema who has known the human mind as Lohithadas. That's why each one of his story is relatable to the audience. It was Sibi Malayil who delivered the highest number of hits alongside Lohithadas as the writer.

Sibi took to Facebook to recall his memories of Lohithadas' on the day of his demise

"Today is June 28, 2024. MACTA's thirtieth annual general meeting is being held in Kochi. Fifteen years ago, after the fifteenth annual general meeting of MACTA held in Thiruvananthapuram on June 27, I drove alone to Kochi the next morning. After reaching Kochi, I have to go to Lakkidi the very next day. As previously decided, Lohi is waiting there to tell the story of our new movie with Mohanlal.

I didn't feel any boredom of traveling alone because of the excitement and joy of the reunion of the three of us after a long break. When I reached the Cherthala Bypass, the memories of Monisha's demise came to my mind... suddenly, my mobile phone rang, shocking me. In the opposite side, it was Kamal who said in a trembling voice, "Sibi our Lohi is gone". My car went wayward for a moment. Then everything Kamal said sounded in my ears only as indistinct sounds. Then someone kept calling. I raised my voice against a journalist who called me for a response. I wasn't clear about the happenings around me. The road in front of me was just a hazy vision. I don't know how I drove from Cherthala to Lisie Hospital in Ernakulam. Someone took me to a room on the upper floor of the hospital.

Someone told me that there was Lohi beyond a green sheet. Someone was holding me as I walked down by leaning on to the wall for support... What could be the story that Lohi had planned to tell me?," Sibi Malayil's wrote on Facebook.
