Poor performance in first debate; if Biden withdraws, Michelle or Kamala Harris will replace him

WASHINGTON: A section of leaders of the Democratic Party has come out against US President Joe Biden following his poor performance in the first television debate with Donald Trump. It is indicated that there is a demand within the party that someone else should be named Democratic nominee instead of Biden. It must be noted that the US presidential election is just a few months away.

The move to replace Biden with former President Barack Obama's wife Michelle as the Democratic nominee is also active. Republican Senator Ted Cruz's prediction that Michelle will be named the Democratic nominee is also fueling the speculation. The names of Vice President and Indian origin Kamala Harris, California Governor Gavin Newsom, and Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker are also being considered.

Meanwhile, Biden recently said at a rally in North Carolina that he will not withdraw from the candidacy. He also expressed confidence that he would win the election. Former President Barack Obama also came out in support of Biden. Obama said that this is a contest between someone who has dedicated his life to the common people and someone who only thinks about himself.

Biden will be named as the official candidate of the Democratic party during the Democratic National Convention to be held in Chicago from August 19 to 22. The party will be able to find a new nominee only if Biden decides to withdraw from the contest.
