"Nobody helped me when I was attacked, stepping down with six and a half crore rupees additional savings left for AMMA": Edavela Babu

KOCHI: Edavela Babu has opened up about the trouble he faced when he was the general secretary of the film actors association AMMA. Edavela Babu said that when some people surrounded and attacked him on social media, not a single person in AMMA supported him. He was addressing the members before stepping down.

"I sat in the position of General Secretary for everyone and not for my own happiness. There was a huge attack on me on social media. Those who were with me remained silent then. I got no help from anyone. ?I was others who should have spoken for a person in that position. The new governing body should not have such a bad experience."

Edavela Babu also pointed out that during the election campaign for the office bearer, there was publicity that he was a paid secretary. However, he said that those who were in the leadership including Mammootty, Mohanlal and Innocent gave him great support in the activities of the organization.

"Last time when I was the general secretary, the organization made a savings of Rs 36 lakh and this time there is a saving of Rs 1 crore. I am stepping down with an additional six and a half crore rupees left for the organization. When I was in office, the shooting of a Malayalam movie was not stopped even for a single day," said Evala Babu.
