THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Public Works Department Minister PA Mohammed Riyas said in the assembly that the construction works of the NH 66 project would be completed by the end of next year.
NH66 is not just a solution to Kerala's traffic problems from south to north. It will also play a crucial role in the development of the state. A 643-kilometer-long national highway, measuring 45 meters in width and spread across 17 reaches, is currently under construction in the state. It also includes the longest elevated road in the country at a distance of 13 km. This is the Aroor-Thuravoor elevated road passing through Alappuzha.
Minister Mohammed Riyas said that the construction of the six-lane road, spanning 45 meters in width, is anticipated to be complete by December 2025. He said that the state government and the National Highway Authority are working together in this regard. The minister also said that district administrations are ensuring that the works are going on promptly in each reach.
