Eight gangsters arrested at birthday celebration of KAAPA-deported leader

PARAVUR: The Varapuzha police arrested eight gangsters who had come to celebrate the birthday of gangster leader Radhakrishnan (Radhu), who was deported under KAAPA.

Anas (25) of Churuthottapuram, Thrissur Chavakkad, Arshad (23) of Kalathiparam, Aluva Thaikkattukara, Sooraj (26) of SP House, Alappuzha Haripad Muttam, Yadukrishnan (27) Sherin Xaviar (47), Sudhakaran (42), Muhammad Shamnas (28) and Vasanthakumar (22) were taken into custody by the police. Radhakrishnan, a native of Cheranallur, was living in a rented house in Punchakuzhi, Varapuzha Olanad. It was decided to hold his son's birthday party in the auditorium.

An invitation letter has been issued for this purpose. After the information was brought to the attention of the Special Branch officials and the police denied permission, the program was shifted to the rented house. Rural SP Vaibhav Saxena had received information about the arrival of criminals from different parts of the state. Mufti police under the leadership of Varapuzha Inspector Prashant Klint were deployed near the house where the celebration was taking place. By twelve o'clock, the suspects who had attended were interrogated and taken into custody. Seven cases were taken against eight people. The police said that they were accused in several cases, including a murder case, in the stations of Palakkad, Thrissur, Alappuzha and Ernakulam districts. No one has been released on bail as he has no other cases at present.
