'What Ramesh Narayan said first was a lie, now there is no point in apologising'; Dhyan responds

Music director Pandit Ramesh Narayanan is facing severe criticism on social media for allegedly insulting actor Asif Ali during the trailer launch of MT Vasudevan Nair’s anthology ‘Manorathangal’. Many actors came out supporting Asif Ali shortly after the video of the incident went viral on social media. Actor Dhyan Sreenivasan has now spoken on the contentious event. Speaking to the media, Dhyan stated that while Ramesh Narayan apologised to Asif Ali following the controversy, he did not think the apology was sincere.

"When asked why he behaved in such a way, Ramesh Narayan responded that his name was called out wrongly on stage. I felt that there were serious flaws in the way the event was organised. Ramesh Narayan was upset that he was not invited to the stage to receive the memento. He said that he did not notice Asif Ali because of that. However, when we feel insulted, can we insult someone else in the same manner?" Dhyan said.

"We may have some personal issues. However, we should not express it to the media or other individuals. Ramesh Narayanan first said that he patted Asif on the shoulder. Isn't it a lie? He apologised after the controversy broke out. Now, there is no point in apologising. I don't think that his apology was a heartfelt one. Asif handled the situation with a smile. However, he might have felt sad," Dhyan added.
