Governor Arif Mohammad Khan lauds Oommen Chandy as Kerala's finest public servant

KOTTAYAM: Governor Arif Mohammad Khan has said that Oommen Chandy, who was a kind and compassionate leader, was the best public servant Kerala has contributed. He was inaugurating the commemoration organized by the Oommen Chandy Foundation on the occasion of the first death anniversary of Oommen Chandy at Puthupally St. George Orthodox Valiya Palliyanganam.

The governor started his speech with the introduction that he bows before the holy memory of Oommen Chandy, the popular leader of Kerala. The philanthropic activities done by Oommen Chandy throughout his life should be seen as service to God. Anyone could always come before him with a complaint. Oommen Chandy is a name that public servants should be proud of. The governor inaugurated the distribution of scholarships to children by the foundation and inaugurated the OC Sports Arena.

Opposition leader V D Satheesan delivered the keynote speech. Orthodox Church President Basilios Marthoma Mathews Trithian Catholic bava presided. Syro Malabar Sabha Archbishop Mar Raphael Thattil, Panakkad Syed Sadikhali Shihab Thangal, Shashi Tharoor MP, Swami Gururatnam Gnanathapasvi, Swami Mokshavrathananda, Zilla Panchayat Member Radha V Nair, SNDP Yuga Changanassery Union President Girish Konath, Chandi Oommen MLA and others spoke.
