KOCHI: Kerala's own Kochi occupies a crucial position in the list of important cities in India. Kochi has been able to place Kerala and the nation on the global map in various fields. Now, the Cochin International Airport has become the only airport from Kerala to make it to the list of the top ten busiest airports in the country. 376.4 million passengers travelled through the nation's airports in the fiscal year 2023–2024.

Cochin International Airport has been ranked 8th on the list of the top 10 busiest airports in the country prepared by Forbes. New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport came first on the list. Delhi has been the busiest airport in the country for the past 15 years since 2009.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai is second on the list. Kempegowda Airport in Bengaluru and Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad are ranked third and fourth respectively. Chennai International Airport is the fifth busiest airport in the country in terms of passenger traffic and aircraft movements. Kolkata's Subhash Chandra Bose Airport came sixth while Ahmedabad's Sardar Patel Airport came seventh on the list. The two airports that came behind Cochin International Airport on the list are Pune International Airport (9) and Dabolim Airport (10) in Goa.
