Nirmala Sitharaman to present Union Budget today

NEW DELHI: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the first budget of the third Modi government in the Lok Sabha today at 11 am. This will be the seventh straight budget presented by Nirmala Sitharaman. With this, she will surpass the previous record of six consecutive budgets held by Morarji Desai. The NDA government, which did not win the predicted majority in this year's Lok Sabha elections, will present the budget keeping an eye on the upcoming Maharashtra and Haryana assembly elections.

The Centre is likely to make announcements that will boost agriculture, small-scale industries, and women's sectors, as well as other industries. It will also make important decisions for the nation's economic growth. Meanwhile, Kerala is hopeful that the Centre will consider its long-standing demand to set up AIIMS in the state.
