‘Local residents and representatives are there for Arjun, but no one for Saravanan

BENGALURU: The search for Arjun of Kozhikode, who went missing in the landslide in Shirur, is progressing. IBOD tests have received signals confirming the presence of metals under the river. When his family, hometown and the whole of Kerala are waiting for him, a family in Tamil Nadu is waiting for the return of Saravanan (39), another lorry driver who went missing in the disaster.

Many from Arjun’s hometown and people's representatives have reached the accident spot. However, only his uncle Senthil Kumar from Shirur, has reached for Saravanan. He doesn't know what to do or whom to talk to. While talking to the media, he said that he only wants Saravanan to get the support that Arjun's search is getting.

Saravanan also went missing in the same landslide in which Arjun went missing. Saravanan came in a tanker lorry. The landslide occurred when he got out of his vehicle to have a cup of tea. No information was obtained after that. Though his lorry was obtained, he was not in it.

'Will Saravanan be in the water of the river or under the mud? I don't know if he has been washed away. The district collector of Karnataka spoke to the SP. She assured that missing Saravanan will have the same importance as that of Arjun. I stand here in that belief. When a body was found earlier, the mother was called to take a DNA test. Saravanan does not have many relatives. He has a son studying in the first standard,’ said Kumar.
