KOCHI: Tamil Nadu natives arrested for recording new films on mobile phones from movie theatres and spreading theatre print. Two people were arrested with the help of theatre owners while they were recording a movie at a theatre in Thiruvananthapuram. The action is in a case registered by Kakkanad Cyber Police.
According to the police, the accused had recorded many films including 'Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil' on their mobile phones and circulated theatre prints. On the second day after the release of 'Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil', a theatre print of the film was doing the rounds. Footage of some people watching the theatre print of the film while travelling on a train had also surfaced. With this, Supriya Menon, one of the producers, filed a complaint with the Kakkanad Cyber Police. Two people were caught in the investigation that followed.
Cyber police's investigation had revealed that 'Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil' was recorded on a mobile phone from a theatre in Thiruvananthapuram. Surveillance was intensified with the help of the theatre owners after this and the accused were arrested. The two were caught while filming the Tamil film 'Raayan' on their mobile phones. They have been brought to Kakkanad cyber station and are being interrogated. The police also informed that the arrest of one of the accused has been recorded.
