THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In the wake of the frightening rains, a holiday has been announced for educational institutes in five districts of Kerala. A holiday has been declared in Kannur, Malappuram, Thrissur, Pathanamthitta and Kasaragod districts on Wednesday. The District Collector has announced a holiday for all educational institutions including professional colleges and tuition centers.
In Kasaragod and Kannur, the previously scheduled exams will remain unchanged. The holiday applies to all educational institutions in Thrissur district. HDC and BM exams have been postponed. Strict restrictions have been imposed in Kozhikode district. Night travel is prohibited in hilly areas.
A red alert has been issued in Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts. IMD has banned fishing in Kerala and Lakshadweep coast.
