KALPATTA: It is clear from the information that the extent of the Wayanad landslide is beyond what is thought. 42 people have been confirmed dead in the landslide so far. About 70 people are undergoing treatment in various hospitals. Many families lived in the area where the accident occurred. The reactions of the survivors are heart-wrenching. The local residents are in shock of the disaster.

Response of a landslide survivor...

'My family and I survived only because I went to see Umma(mother). Everything is gone. I'm only left with this dress which I wear now. Everything was given by God. We lost our neighbours to the flood. They could not be saved. There were houses all over this area. There were around 250 houses.

We were saved from this, thanks to the luck of my mother and children. None of us knew something like this would happen here. We had that much faith. There is no waterfall on this route. This was a very beautiful place and crowded place. It's our destiny. What else to say?
