Swept away by strong currents during heavy rain; body of missing youth found in river

THRISSUR: The body of a youth, who was swept away by the river's strong currents near Kainur in Puthoor during the heavy rain, was discovered at Koorothumkadavu on Saturday. The deceased is Karottuparambu native Akhil (22). He fell into the river on Tuesday. Akhil's body was found during the search conducted by the fire force, NDRF, police, swimming experts and volunteers with public participation under the leadership of Minister K Rajan.

There was a significant flow of water on the road near Akhil's house as the Manali River overflowed following the opening of the Peechi dam. On Tuesday, Akhil fell into the river while walking on the road. Akhil, the son of Thilakan and Chandrika, is an employee of a bike showroom in Karattuparambu. Sister: Akhila.
