KOCHI: The Excise Department has nabbed a youth who used to sell drugs by renting a house in Kunnathunadu panchayat in Ernakulam. Thiruvananthapuram Manacaud native Vishnu Thampi (34), who had been selling drugs by renting a house in Kunnathunadu, was arrested by the District Excise Special Squad. Drugs, including MDMA, worth lakhs were seized from him. A Bengaluru native and two foreign women were also present at the house during the time of the raid.

The police and the Excise said that the foreign women arrived in Kochi to participate in a DJ party to be held in the city. The Kunnathunadu police are collecting more information from the women. The Excise team conducted the raid in the house based on the tip-off received by Ernakulam Assistant Excise Commissioner.

It is reported that Vishnu had been selling drugs from the rented house for the past six months. Vishnu had told the house owner that he was running a travel agency and was renting the house for office purposes. Locals learnt the truth only when the Excise team arrived at Vishnu's house and arrested him. Police said that seven dogs were guarding the rented house where drug dealings were taking place.

The police team found exquisite food items, drinks and exotic cigarettes in the house. The room was also equipped with instruments for musical performances. The police added that all the arrangements for a DJ party were also found in the house.
