Veteran BJP leader LK Advani admitted to hospital

NEW DELHI: Veteran BJP leader and former Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani has been admitted to hospital. The 96-year-old is currently undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital in Delhi. This is the second time he has been admitted to the hospital in a month. Hospital sources indicated that his condition is satisfactory.

He is under the observation of neurosurgeon Dr Vinit Suri. Advani was hospitalized for a few days in the first week of July. He had served as the Union Home Minister from 1998 to 2004 in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA government. He held the post of Deputy Prime Minister of the country from 2002 to 2004. The nation honoured him with the Bharat Ratna earlier this year.
