Migrant worker strangles friend to death in Alappuzha

ALAPPUZHA: Police have arrested a migrant worker in the case of murdering his roommate who used to work in a cement block factory in Vallikunnam, Alappuzha. West Bengal native Somay Hasda (24) was found dead the other day. The arrested person has been identified as Sanadan Tudu (22), a friend and roommate of Somay. The accused is also a native of West Bengal. He was remanded by the Kayamkulam court.

Somay used to chat with Sanadan Tudu's girlfriends on social media. The grudge over this matter led to the murder, the police said. Vallikunnam SHO T Binukumar said that the accused committed the murder by tightening a rope around Somay's neck.

Both the deceased and the accused are workers of a cement block factory in Vallikunnam. They came to work here five days ago. Both of them were living in a room inside the factory. They were friends and used to work in a cement block factory in Chingavanam.
