CHANDIGARH: Haryana Education Department is all set to replace 'good morning' in schools. It is recommended to say "Jai Hind" instead. Haryana government has issued a circular in this regard. The move will be implemented in all schools in Haryana from Independence Day.

The circular issued by the Directorate of School Education read, "To instil a deep sense of patriotism and national pride among students, a decision has been taken to replace ‘good morning’ with ‘Jai Hind’ so that students are inspired every day with the spirit of national unity and respect for the rich history of our country."

The word Jai Hind was coined by Subhash Chandra Bose during India's freedom struggle and later used by the country's armed forces. The circular has been sent to all educational institutions. Officials say it will help students remember national unity and respect India's history on a daily basis.
