Murdered own 11-month-old baby; Kottayam native arrested with ganja

KANNUR: A woman was arrested by the Excise Department for possession of ganja. Kottayam Kanjiramattom native Shilpa (29) was arrested from a rented quarters in Anoor, Karivellur. Shilpa is the accused in the case of killing her own 11-month-old baby in February. The woman brutally killed her child by strangling her neck.

The Excise Team arrested Shilpa during an inspection conducted at her quarters based on the tip-off received by Payyannur Range Assistant Excise Inspector V Suresh.

Shilpa, who had been serving a jail term for murdering her own child, came out 1 month ago. After living in Mangaluru and Kasargod for some time, she shifted to Kannur. She started living in the rented quarters in Karivellur last week.
