'Wife lured girl to house'; Couple arrested in Attingal for molesting minor girl

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A couple were taken into custody for sexually assaulting a minor girl in Attingal Thiruvananthapuram. Elamba native Sarath (28) and his wife Mudakkal native Nanda (24) were arrested.

According to the complaint, the girl aged just 15 was subjected to horrific assault since April 2021. The news came out after the student started developing unusual behaviour in school and started falling behind academically, alerting the faculty members. The minor girl was later subjected to counselling when the shocking news broke out.

Sarath had doubted his wife Nanda having an extramarital affair and threatened her to take part in the crime, or else face the consequences. Nanda thus acquiesced to the demand and lured the minor girl to the house.

The accused were nabbed by a team comprising Attingal Inspector Gopakumar G, SIs Sajith, Jishnu, Sunilkumar, ASI Unniraj, SCPOs Sarath Kumar, Nithin and CPO Anjana. The accused were produced in court and remanded.
