KALPETTA: A dead body and three body parts were found today in the search conducted for those missing in the Wayanad landslide disaster. While one dead body and a body part were found in the search conducted in the Nilambur region, two body parts were found in Anadikkappu near Kanthanpara in Wayanad. So far, a total of 231 dead bodies and 205 body parts of victims of the disaster have been found in affected parts of Wayanad and from the Nilambur region.
On Sunday evening, a dead body was found in Nilambur during a search led by NDRF, Fire Force, Civil Defense, Police and the Forest Department. Seven teams were involved in the search conducted from Kalakkan River to the third waterfall in Soochipara. The fire force, NDRF, forest and volunteers are part of the search at various places. Government agencies are conducting searches in hard-to-reach places, while volunteers are involved in the search in other places. DNA test results of unidentified dead bodies and body parts will be released from today. Samples of about ninety percent of the people staying in the relief camps had been collected earlier.
