Started with headache
Leena was admitted to a private hospital in Kollam on August 3, 2018, due to a headache. Later, she was shifted to a private hospital in Palathara and the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital. She was declared brain-dead on August 12. Following this, her organs were donated to the state government's Mrithasanjeevani scheme. This was the first organ donation to the government sector in 2018. Leena's heart and eyes could not be donated due to the unavailability of those registered in Mrithasanjeevani.
