KOLLAM: On Monday, Sajeev once again met the three men who made their way back to life after receiving the organs of his wife Leena, who bid adieu to this world after suffering brain death. The recipients of Leena's kidneys and liver reached Sajeev's house near Asramam Mariamman Kovil in Kollam yesterday morning. Robbins Varghese (41) from Mallapally in Pathanamthitta, Sreejith (39) from Eanchakal in Thiruvananthapuram and Mohanan (68) from Avanvancheri in Attingal were the ones who came back to life after receiving Leena's organs.

This gathering takes place on Leena's death anniversaries and other functions in their homes. Sajeev's wife Leena (42) died six years ago. After confirming that she was brain dead, the doctors talked to her husband and relatives about donating her organs. Following this, Sajeev and Leena's brother agreed to donate her organs.

Sreejith and Robbins received Leena's kidneys, while Mohan received her liver. These three have been very close to Leena's family since the day of the surgery. They returned from Leena's house yesterday after paying their respects in front of Leena's picture and spending a long time with her family members. Robbins is an employee of a private hospital in Mallapally and Sreejith is a taxi driver. Mohanan was in charge of LP School in Attingal. Sajeev is an employee of the Beverages Corporation outlet in Asramam and the State Vice President of the Beverages Employees Congress. Children: Adarsh and Advaith.

Started with headache
Leena was admitted to a private hospital in Kollam on August 3, 2018, due to a headache. Later, she was shifted to a private hospital in Palathara and the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital. She was declared brain-dead on August 12. Following this, her organs were donated to the state government's Mrithasanjeevani scheme. This was the first organ donation to the government sector in 2018. Leena's heart and eyes could not be donated due to the unavailability of those registered in Mrithasanjeevani.
