BHUBANESWAR: A doctor working at a hospital in Cuttack City in Odisha has been accused of sexually assaulting two patients at the hospital. The incident took place at the SCB Medical College in Cuttack last Sunday. According to the relatives of the victims, the doctor, who was working in the Cardiology Department, sexually assaulted the patients when they came to the hospital to get an echocardiogram test done.

Meanwhile, the accused doctor has sought treatment at the hospital alleging that he was attacked by the relatives of the patients. "We have initiated an investigation. We will record the statements of the victims and take further action based on the evidence," the police said.

However, the hospital authorities have not yet responded to the issue.

The news of the sexual assault inside the hospital in Odisha is coming out amid nationwide protests over the brutal rape and murder of a young trainee doctor at the RG Kar Medical College in West Bengal.
