HC quashes sexual assault case against director Ranjith 

BENGALURU: The High Court has quashed the sexual assault case filed by a youth against director Ranjith. The single bench of Justice S R Krishna Kumar of the Karnataka High Court ordered quashing of the case. This is a case in which the court had earlier stayed the investigation due to lack of evidence.

The youth had filed a complaint that he was sexually assaulted at the Taj Hotel near Bengaluru airport in 2012. However, it was found that this hotel was opened in 2016. The complaint that he was abused on the fourth floor of the hotel is not credible, the court said, explaining why the complainant filed the complaint after 12 years and did not get an explanation for the delay. The court said that many of the youth's arguments were not credible.
