Police register case against Jayasurya on actress’ sexual assault complaint

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police have registered a sexual assault case against actor Jayasurya. The case has been registered by Thiruvananthapuram Cantonment Police on the complaint of the actress. The case was registered against the actor under non-bailable section. The actress’ complaint is that during the shooting of the film in the Secretariat, he sexually assaulted her near the washroom.


Sections like sexual assault and insulting womanhood have been charged against him. This is the first case to be registered among the seven complaints of the actress of Kochi. The special investigation team had yesterday registered the statement of the actress. The case was registered against Jayasurya after this. A special investigation team led by DIG Ajitha Begum and G Poonguzhali arrived at the actress's house in Aluva yesterday.


The actress has filed a complaint against seven people in the film industry including Jayasurya. A special investigation team has recorded the statement of the actress after filing a complaint against them. The move to file a case is made after taking the statement.


The move is to register FIR at the respective police stations where the incident happened. It is reported that a decision may be taken in this regard today. The complaint is against Mukesh MLA, Edavela Babu, Maniyanpilla Raju, Jayasurya, Congress leader advocate V S Chandrashekaran, casting director Vichu, production controller Noble and others.
