NEW DELHI: National Security Advisor Ajit Doval will visit Moscow next week for crucial talks to end the war with Russia and Ukraine. National media reports that he will visit Moscow on September 10 and 11. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who recently visited Russia and Ukraine, held talks with the presidents of both countries about ending the war. After this, Doval will go to Russia. But no official confirmation has been received in this regard.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had conveyed to the Russian President India's willingness to resolve the issue between the two countries through political and diplomatic talks. Expressing grave concern over the ongoing conflict, Modi suggested that the two countries resolve the issue as soon as possible through diplomatic talks. In a telephonic conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Modi had announced that Doval would visit Moscow to discuss the issues needed to resolve the issues peacefully. According to the report, Doval is going to Russia next week.
Russian officials have also made it clear that India can play a decisive role in solving the problem. India's position is that to see the end of the war, there should be an open discussion between the two countries and a solution can be found only through practical interventions. They do not have a neutral position. We are on one side. It is the side of peace. We stand firmly there' said the Prime Minister during his visit to Ukraine.
In a meeting with Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Poland and at a ceremony held by the Indian community, Modi stressed the need to end the Russia-Ukraine war and said that India, which has the legacy of Buddha, advocates for eternal peace.
At the same time, the two countries have intensified their airstrikes against each other in recent days. Ukraine has launched drone attacks on Russian energy facilities and an oil refinery. Although there were no casualties, there were fires in many places. The Russian army destroyed more than 150 drones.
41 people were injured in the missile attack by Russia in Kharkiv, Ukraine. Many buildings, including a supermarket, were damaged in the attack. One person was killed in Sumi city. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy then requested the West to provide more weapons to counter Russian aggression.
