'Suspicious about this specific allegation'; Methil Devika responds to sexual allegations against MLA Mukesh

KOCHI: Celebrated dancer and ex-wife of MLA Mukesh, Methil Devika responded to the sexual allegations now levelled against the actor-turned-politician. Devika expressed suspicion over the nature of the complaint and doubted the veracity of the claims made.

METHIL DEVIKA:

“Mukesh received bail from court just a day back. I know something about this specific allegation which I believe to be the truth. It is for that exact reason that I doubt the motive behind this allegation, and it is suspicious.

Despite ending the relationship with Mukesh, we continue to be good friends. There is no need to keep any enmities. But as a wife, I am no longer interested in continuing the relationship and that’s it.

With the release of the Hema committee report, it has been a daunting task to differentiate real allegations from false ones. It has turned out to be a new normal for people to allege sexual misconduct at anyone.

Those who raise such false allegations should be served with severe punishment. We should understand the relevance of certain things mentioned in the Hema committee report. It is not something to be taken lightly.”
