'This decision stems from personal reasons'; Jayam Ravi confirms divorce from wife Aarti

Tamil actor Jayam Ravi has officially announced his separation from his wife Aarti after 15 years of marriage. The couple, who have two sons, had been the subject of split rumours since June when Aarti deleted all photos of the actor from her Instagram. On Monday, Jayam Ravi put the speculation to rest by confirming their divorce, citing "personal reasons."

In a statement shared on his X page, he posted two notes—one in English and the other in Tamil. " After much thought, reflections and discussions, I have taken the difficult decision to proceed with the dissolution of my marriage with Aarti. This decision was not made out of haste and it stems from personal reasons that I believe are in the best interests of everyone involved," Ravi wrote.

He also appealed for privacy during this challenging time, urging people not to speculate or spread rumours about the situation. " In light of this, I hereby kindly request all of you to respect our privacy as well as that of our family members during this difficult time and appeal to all of you to refrain from making any assumptions, rumours or allegations in this regard and let the matter remain private," he added.
