THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Women in Cinema Collective proposed new guidelines regarding the code of conduct in the film industry. The WCC suggested that everyone, including actors, should be guaranteed an employment contract and an Act preventing sexual violence against women should be included in every contract. The organization also demanded the right to report contract violations.
The proposal states that the remuneration, terms, duration and credits should be specified in the contract. Temporary employees also need contracts. The WCC also wants to disclose the name of the film and the details of the employer and employee. Earlier, the committee suggested the need to implement the 2013 Posh Act against sexual harassment and prevent gender discrimination, biased interactions and sexual harassment.
Do not engage in work under the influence of intoxicating substances. Should stop the practice of unauthorized commissions. The WCC demanded that threats, expletives, use of force, violence and unannounced bans should end at the workplace and that there should be an official redressal committee to deal with complaints in these matters.
