Union Home Ministry launches key initiatives to combat online fraud; 5,000 cyber commandos to be deployed

NEW DELHI: The Union Home Ministry is set to take immediate action to curb the rising incidents of online fraud. Key initiatives include the establishment of a special coordination center for agencies, a public web portal, deployment of cyber commandos and the creation of a fraudster register.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled these four major projects during the first foundation day of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center (I4C) in Delhi. The initiatives include the Cyber Fraud Mitigation Centre, the Samanvaya Platform (a centralized public web portal), Cyber Commandos and a Register of Fraudsters.

Amit Shah announced that 5,000 cyber commandos will be deployed over the next five years to support investigating agencies in tackling cybercrime.
