16 Vande bharat trains left idle amid high demand, citing lack of suitable routes

NEW DELHI: Vandebharat Chair Car Express are the trains that have created a new revolution in Indian Railways. Vandebharat is a super hit on most routes including Kerala. The modern facilities of the train, which can run at a speed of up to 160 km per hour, are also very satisfying for the passengers. But 16 Vandebharat trains are idle in the country without running on any route.

16 such trains have been idled when states including Kerala are demanding more Vandebharat trains. However, the explanation given by the Railways is that the trains are not being laid due to not being able to find a suitable route for the service. According to railway officials, Indian Railways has few routes with upgraded signals and speeds between 130-160 kmph.

Not being able to find a profitable route is also the main reason. Routes that do not affect the schedule of other trains have also not been found. As expected by the authorities, the tracks have not been upgraded to run high-speed trains. In the current situation, many trains are held up to keep up with the schedule of Vandebharat trains. In this, there is a big complaint, including the passengers of the passenger train.

For a small number of passengers traveling on Vandebharat, hours are lost to other passengers, creating a negative feeling among the passengers of other trains. Railways spend Rs 52 crore to build a Vande Bharat train with eight coaches. More than 800 crore rupees have been spent to build 16 such trains. At the same time, a question is also raised as to why the Kochi-Bengaluru special, which was taken up by railway passengers who said there was no suitable route, was cancelled.
