'This Malayali actress left me speechless during national award function'; Akshay Kumar's viral interview

An interview with Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is going viral on social media. While participating in a chat show, Akshay Kumar elucidated an incident which he found surprising and moving.

Akshay Kumar:

“It was in 2017 that I received my first national award. We were all seated in the president’s residence for the function and then a Malayali actress came next to me. She was full of energy and opened up about how she adored me as a movie star. She then asked me about the number of movies I have done in my career. 135, I replied. She congratulated me and I was lost in excitement since it was my first award and I was very proud of the achievement.

I then asked her how many movies she has worked on in Malayalam. Her reply floored me. She said it was her first movie. Just imagine that an actress in her first movie has bagged a national award. The incident was truly embarrassing for me but I admired her humility and the star she is.”

Akshay Kumar in the interview was talking about Malayali actress Surabhi Lakshmi, who won the Best Actress award for her debut movie ‘Minnaminungu’ in 2017.
