Poonthura native in custody for sale of fake copy of Ram C/o Anandhi

KOCHI: A native of Poonthura in the capital city has been arrested for selling ten fake copies of Ram C/0 Anandhi, the hit novel of Akhil P Dharmajan. The one taken into custody is Habeeb Rehman. The action is on the complaint of DC Books. The fake copies reached the stall of Onam Exhibition Centre in Kochi. Even the publishers were not able to identify it in the first glance.

The publishers said Delhi group is behind the fake copies. They also testify that fake versions of all books that are in demand in the market are readily available. ‘The fake copy of Ram C/O Anandhi came to the notice of an employee who had gone to the Onam Mela. The next day, a complaint was lodged with Kochi City Police Commissioner Putta Vimaladitya. DC Publications Manager G Venugopal said the novels were taken into custody that very day.


The novel taken into custody will be sent for detailed examination. The stall employee said that he does not know from where these came. The owner of the stall will be summoned and questioned. Similar cases have been registered in Kottayam and Thiruvananthapuram. The PDF versions of the novels were also widely sold through WhatsApp. With the entry of bookshop operators, the PDF business was shut down.
