Nivin Pauly questioned in sexual abuse complaint; actor's statement recorded in conspiracy allegation

KOCHI: Actor Nivin Pauly was questioned by a special investigation team regarding a complaint filed by a woman alleging sexual abuse in Dubai. The investigation team recorded Nivin's statement in his complaint that there was a conspiracy behind the complaint. The questioning was based on these two complaints.

In her complaint, the woman alleged that she was sexually abused by Nivin Pauly and others in Dubai on December 14 and 15, 2023. The complaint states that the woman, a native of Kothamangalam, was taken to Dubai by Thrissur native Shreya and was gang-raped in a hotel room. The woman also alleged that the gang recorded intimate moments on a mobile phone and threatened her. Nivin Pauly is the sixth accused in the case. The other accused are film producer AK Sunil, and Ernakulam natives Binu, Basheer and Kuttan.

However, evidence later emerged that Nivin Pauly was filming in Kochi for Vineeth Sreenivasan's movie during the days the woman alleged harassment. Vineeth Srinivasan stated that Nivin had been shooting for his film and was not in Dubai on the dates mentioned in the complaint.
