Expect intense rainfall in Kerala for next three hours; IMD issues warning

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian meteorological department has warned of heavy rains in all districts of Kerala for the next three hours. A yellow alert has been announced for six districts today including Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Ernakulam, Malappuram, Wayanad and Kannur districts.

According to the National Center for Oceanography and Research, there is a possibility of high waves of 0.9 to 1.0 meters along Kerala coast till 11.30 pm tomorrow. Fishing has been banned in Kerala-Lakshadweep coasts today. Strong winds with gustiness of 35 to 45 kmph and occasional gusts up to 55 kmph are likely along Kerala - Lakshadweep coasts.
