15-year-old dies in Ponnani after being hit by Taurus lorry

MALAPPURAM: A 15-year-old boy tragically lost his life after being struck by a Taurus lorry in Ponnani. The victim has been identified as Abdul Hadi, a native of Azheekkal, Ponnani. The accident occurred this afternoon.

Hadi, a class 10 student, was riding pillion on a scooter on his way back to school after lunch when the vehicle skidded, throwing him in front of the lorry. Although he was rushed to Ponnani Taluk Hospital with severe injuries, doctors were unable to save his life. The scooter rider also sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a nearby private hospital. Hadi's body will be handed over to his family following a postmortem. Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
