BHUBANESWAR: Police arrested Pradyumnakumar Das and his two girlfriends after the murder of Das’s wife, Subhasree. The shocking incident, which came to light last month, has left the city of Bhubaneswar in disbelief.
According to the police, Pradyumnakumar was involved in extramarital relationships with two women who were aware of each other’s involvement with him. His wife Subhasree had no knowledge of these affairs. Recently, Subhasree found out the infidelity, leading to a serious dispute with her husband. Following the argument, Subhasree chose to live separately for eight months.
During this period of separation, Pradyumnakumar and his two girlfriends plotted to kill Subhasree. On October 28, he lured her to one of his girlfriend’s homes under the pretext of resolving their issues. Once there, with the assistance of his girlfriends, Subhasree was injected with anesthesia twice. Police report that one of the girlfriends, who worked at a pharmacy, had sourced the anesthesia.
After the injections, Subhasree became paralyzed and Pradyumnakumar rushed her to the hospital. She died on the way. Pradyumnakumar attempted to cover up the crime by claiming that his wife had committed suicide and even informed the police about the alleged suicide. Initially, the authorities registered the case as an unnatural death.
The truth came out during the post-mortem, which revealed bruises on Subhasree's neck and arms, with an overdose of anesthesia identified as the cause of death. Upon further investigation, Pradyumnakumar and his accomplices confessed to the crime.
