Actor Joju George responded to the allegations of a film critic who posted a negative review of the film ‘Pani’. Joju through a Facebook Live clarified the issue.
The movie ‘Pani’ is the directional debut of Joju and is now running in packed theatres.
JOJU GEORGE:
“Hello everyone. It is late at night but I’m here to clarify an important issue. There is an audio recording circulating on social media purportedly with my voice. Don’t have any second thoughts. It is my voice and the audio is authentic.
Please take everything in a good sense. I have invested a lot of money in the project. For reasons unknown, there was a big hate campaign against the movie in the first two days after its release. It shattered us but the twist came when people started accepting the movie. And then, another issue popped up after the theatre print started appearing on many sites.
There have been a lot of negative reviews. I have not called anyone. It's all about freedom of expression. If you don't like my movie, you should say you don't like it. But this person tried to spread the negative reviews on other pages. He even started commenting on random posts requesting people to avoid the movie.
I believe in destiny. Making a film a success is very difficult. For many, it is just entertainment but for me, it is life. I am the producer and I have invested a big sum for the project. I threatened him because he was shrewdly spreading the negative comments in other groups. The film is the result of my sweat and years of hard work. I have all the related documents to go against him. And for the same reason, when something like this happens, I will vent my anger".
Critic Adarsh came forward alleging that Joju threatened him for criticizing the film 'Pani'.
